1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data Linked to Your Identity

2. How We Use Your Information

- Face Data: Images are used solely to generate the requested results inside the app. Face data is not used for identity verification, advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purposes.
- Service Improvement: To improve our AI algorithms, user experience, and develop new features.
- Account Management: To manage your account, track your subscription status, and provide customer support.
- Analytics: To understand how users interact with our app and optimize performance.
- Bug Fixes: To identify, diagnose, and fix technical issues using crash data.
3. Face Data and Image Processing
The app processes user-provided photos that may contain faces in order to generate entertainment-only ancestral history insights. The app does not use facial recognition, does not identify individuals, and does not create or store biometric identifiers.
Face Data Handling: Cestry processes face-related visual information only temporarily to generate the requested AI output. Face data is not shared with third parties, not stored permanently, not associated with a user's identity, and not used for identification, profiling, analytics, advertising, or AI model training.
Cestry does not collect, extract, store, or process biometric identifiers, facial recognition templates, or face embeddings. We do not identify, verify, or track users based on facial features.
3.1 Data Retention
User images are stored temporarily for processing and are automatically deleted within 24 hours. We do not retain derived features beyond the processing period. Only text-based analysis results are retained.
3.2 Image Processing
Uploaded images are transmitted securely and processed only to generate the AI output explicitly requested by the user. Processing may occur on secure servers operated by trusted infrastructure providers acting strictly on our behalf.
Any third-party infrastructure providers act solely as data processors under our instructions. They do not have independent access to face data and are contractually prohibited from storing, sharing, or using such data for any other purpose.
3.3 Entertainment Disclaimer
Our analysis uses AI visual pattern recognition for entertainment purposes only. It is not a DNA test, scientific analysis, or genetic testing. All results are fictional and should be treated as entertainment content.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party service providers (such as Firebase/Google Cloud) who assist in operating our app. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

- AI Processing Services: For generating entertainment-only ancestry insights from user-uploaded photos. These providers act as data processors under our instructions and do not independently access, store, or use face data for any purpose.
- App Store / Google Play: For app distribution and in-app purchases. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
10. Retention Period
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Nothing in the app should be treated as scientific, medical, genetic, dietary, or relationship advice. If you want verified ancestry information, please consider traditional genealogy research or DNA testing services.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
